Old China: 1800 Year-Old Traditional Village In Chengkan

From the Youtube description: http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com
With a visit to Chengkan looming today, we really thought we had…been there…done it…as far as villages went. But so wrong! Chengkan Village was also built on the fundamental elements of Feng Shui and I Ching, not important to us since we tend to become hopelessly lost in the explanations.

What was important is the exquisitely carved wooden frames and engravings throughout Baolun Hall. Not only carved but with bright and vivid colors on the 1800 year old beams! To this day scientists are trying to determine exactly what the painters used that kept the hues so extraordinary. A great village!
