Manly Hall: Magic And The Astral Dimension – (2015) 4 stars

Run time: 1 hour, 18 minutes. In this lecture, Hall states that every man can create his own universe. In the past, I have covered the importance of magical intent and mind visualization, or the creative process, separate but both as means to transform the world into a more positive place. More recently, I have come across lectures by Stephan Hoeller and Hall describing how profound the human imagination is, and how in truth this is a misunderstood aspect or form of magic. It makes sense. The cabal that rules over us keeps us in perennial fear. They feed off our negative energies and reflect them back to us as a stronger evil. What happens if we no longer fear but defy their smaller numbers with our much greater altruism, friendship and love? The cabal will fall apart and the better world that people put into their imagination will gradually manifest into reality.

Hall tends to generalize and philosophize during this lecture, so there aren’t too many specifics given during this lecture. He speaks in an overall sense of ancient tribal views on magic, and of how neglecting the mind leads us to dismal states of materialism and a lack of spiritual fulfillment. Toward the end of his talk, he predicts a bright future if we can learn to commune with our earth and with each other. The first step is to realize that the earth is part of us, just as we are part of the earth.

This might sound like pagan animism, but I agree with Hall that the earth is a living, breathing entity. This is because we are all part of the greater Whole, or Source, or God if you will, although I definitely am not talking about jealous creators who murder everyone that disagrees with them. That is not man created in the image of god; that is god created in the image of man. What I am hoping is that people can one day understand the difference between those two concepts. That’s when we as a species can finally start moving forward into the better world already waiting for us in the future.
